Positivity can be a hard thing to come by when your team is trailing the entire game on its way to a 9-0 loss in its Western State Conference opener at Santa Monica Tuesday Sept. 26 but Glendale College Head Coach Jorge Mena found a silver lining in the defeat.
"This was only our sixth game of the year and we have yet to have a full team for various reasons so I have to look at it as a learning experience,' Mena said. "For example, our goalie Ashley Messier had 10 saves against almost 20 shots on goal and she never flinched and all of our players got to see how challenging our conference is.''
Glendale continues WSC play by hosting Canyons Friday Sept. 29 at 6 pm at Sartoris Field.
