Santa Monica College basketball season preview

Basketball is such a simple sport, or so people think. There's more to the game than running up and down the court and shooting baskets. The Corsairs at Santa Monica College embody the real meaning of basketball. They play as more than just a team, but as a unit; a family.

Last season could have been better but the team did well with a record of 15-9. The team overall had 1849 points during the season, averaging 77 points per game. Their top player, David Nwaba, averaged 20.5 points and 8.8 rebounds per game with a FG percentage of 55.3. Keilan Horton had 16.2 points per game with Madison Higgins pulling in 11.

Top players for the 3 point percentage are Madison Higgins with 36.4%, Keilan Horton with 30.5%, followed by 27.7% from Adam Griffin. Unfortunately the Corsairs lost their top player, freshman David Nwaba. He received a full scholarship to Cal Poly, we all wish him the best.
