The 2016-17 Santa Monica College Corsairs Men's Basketball season kicked off  Friday 11/4/16 on a positive note. The Corsairs defeated Santa Barbara College 85-66. Five Corsairs reached double figures and sealed the home victory. Sophomore guard Isiah Ajiboye led the way with 13 points and 5 rebounds. Freshman Center Michael Fry recorded his first college double-double with 10 points and 10 rebounds. Freshman point guard Terrell Waiters came off the bench and  had 10 points, 6 assits, and 3 steals. Brandon Russell also came off the bench with 12 points and 3 steals.
