The Santa Monica College Men's basketball team played the second game of the Don Gehler Memorial Tournament hosted at Miramar College on November 3rd against Imperial Valley College. Santa Monica erased a 16-point deficit in the 2nd half to play for the win with the last possession of the game. Despite Santa Monica's hard-fought effort, the team lost 61-60.
Freshmen Guard Robyion Hughes had a breakout game in an efficient 19 minutes of action finishing with 19 points and 4 rebounds. Sophomore Guard Joe Robinson finished with 12 points. Sophomore Forward Michael Fry and Freshmen Forward Daniel Estes each contributed 10 rebounds.
SMC returns to action Wednesday November 9, 2017 at Compton College for a 6:00 p.m. game.
