SMC Men's Basketball All Conference Selections

Five SMC Men's Basketball players were honored as the Western State Conference Coaches selected their top players Saturday at Ventura College.

Marcus Harris a 6'8" Sophomore Forward out of Santa Monica High who averaged 12.8 points per game in Western State conference play was selected to the team.

Sophomore Jordan Wilson a 6'6" Forward  (8.4 ppg and 6.3 rpg) out of Athlos Leadership Academy in San Antonio Texas was selected to the team.

Sophomore Kyle Young a 6'9" Center out of Beverly Hills High who averaged 8 ppg was chosen Co-Defensive player of the year.

Freshmen LeAndrew Knight (Cabrillo High in Lompoc) and Lucas Zemen (Village Christian) were Honorable mention selections.

Head Coach Joshua Thomas complimented all of his players on their play in conference this season,  "Marcus Harris led the offensive charge for our team. He did a great job of staying aggressive." "Jordan Wilson filled up the stat sheet in all aspects of the game. He was consistently good at multiple facets of the game."

"LeAndrew Knight shot incredibly well from the field and passed the ball well in conference play. His playmaking really opened the game up for his teammates."

"Lucas Zemen shot the ball efficiently from the perimeter and continued to rebound at a high rate off the bench. His leadership really carried this group."

"Kyle Young has a been our anchor defensively all year long. He had three games with four block shots in conference. He does a great job protecting the paint and covering for his teammates."
