Coach Malik Bray took over as the Interim Head Coach in January 2023 after serving as the lead assistant coach for the '22-'23 season and the begining of the '23-'24 season.

Coach Bray is a 2013 Serra High School graduate.  He was an integral part of the winning culture at Serra.  Throughout his high school career, he played with the top AAU program in Los Angeles, California Supreme and eventuallly joined their staff. 

Coach Bray received his Bachelors Degree, Masters Degree and Teaching Credential from Azusa Pacific University majoring in Kinesiology with a Physical Education emphasis in 2017 and 2019.

Before coming to Santa Monica College, Coach Bray was at Glendale Community College as an Associate Head Coach.  As Associate Head Coach his responsibilities included practice planning, scouting and film breakdown, on-court training, practice implementation with the team, as well as in game coaching duties. 

Coach Bray began his coaching career at St. Pius X-St Matthias Academy as a varsity assistant under Coach Donte Archie in 2018. He also coached with the AAU Basketball with West Coast Elite which consistently featured top players on the Under Armour Circuit.
