The SMC Men's Cross Country team finished 14th at the State Championships, our highest finish since 1980. SMC's top runner, Cesar Gatete finished 9th overall (out of 175 runners). The team raced well as we had finished twelfth at So. Cal. Regionals two weeks ago, and at State, SMC moved up to 10th among the So. Cal. teams (The best finish for SMC since 1980).
For the SMC Women's Cross Country two women competed; Nanako Takahashi and Jessica Robert. Nanako finished in 31st place, and Jessica finished in 65th place, out of 162 runners.
