"This has been a great day for SMC Women's Basketball," stated SMC Head Women's Basketball Coach Lydia Strong.  We had two players sign today!  I am so proud of both of them for setting goals and accomplishing them.  For Briah, she has been one of the hardest workers here at SMC and it has paid off big time!  When Briah came here on her recruiting visit a couple of years ago, she set lofty goals.   I've never seen a player come in, attack every day with ferocity, work tirelessly every day, improve tremendously and accomplish the goals she set for herself.  Briah is an outstanding role model with great character and I know she will make the coaching staff and fans proud at Bethesda."

Nelson had an outstanding season for the Corsairs averaging 8.8 points per game, 4.8 RPG and  3.1 assists per game. Nelson was a Western State Conference Honorable mention selection in 2013 - 2014.   This season she was selected to the All Western State Conference First Team by the conference coaches.   Nelson is an outstanding defender and was voted the teams Best Defensive Player for the 2014 – 2015 season.

Bethesda University Head Coach Jason Pruitt on Briah:

"Briah will she will have a big impact on our team on positions that we need next year. We are excited to have her in our program."
