WSC Women's Basketball All Conference Team announced

Santa Monica College Women's Basketball Teammates Oshaela Gray and Katya Echavez were selected to the First Team All Western State team this weekend at Ventura College.  Gray was selected to the team for the second consecutive season with the Corsairs.  "It was a great day for SMC Women's Basketball, stated Head Coach Lydia Strong after the voting.  "Both players played well for us all season and deserve the honors.   "It's a testament to their hard work and dedication that they were chosen.  I'm proud and happy for both of them."
 
Gray, a sophomore guard from Hamilton High in Los Angeles played in all 28 games this season.  She averaged 16.5 points per game, 5.9 rebounds and 3.9 assists per game for the Corsairs.   Gray had her best game of the season vs. Butte College where she scored 28 points. 

Echavez is a freshman forward from Covina  averaged 15.1 ppg.  She also played in all 28 games this season.  Her best games of the season came in Western State Conference play as she scored 26 points vs. Citrus, 31 points vs. Glendale and finished the season with 34 points vs. Bakersfield College.
