SMC Women's Basketball won its second consecutive game defeating College of the Canyons in the Consolation Championship bracket in the Ventura College Invitational tournament.  

SMC received solid contributions from Katya Echavez, (16 points), Jada Gambrah, 10 points, 7 rebounds, Katlyn Flores (10 points, 8 rebounds, 7 assists), but the story of the game was the play of Sophomore Lauren Davis.

Davis was selected to the all tournament team after she posted a career high 34 points and 18 rebounds in the game. "Lauren was amazing today, stated Head Coach Lydia Strong, "she is an amazing rebounder and is relentless, especially on the offensive boards.  It was great to watch her dominate today."

The Corsairs are now 4-4 and will play Friday in the Cypress College Invitational at 4:00 p.m. vs. Palomar College.
