The Santa Monica College Women's Basketball team continued its winning ways with an 83-67 victory over College of the Canyons.

The Corsairs had four players in double figures as Lauren Davis (31 points 18 rebounds), Jessica Melamed (19 points, 4 assists), Mosou Secka (14 points, 9 rebounds) and Katya Echavez (10 points) led the team to victory. 

With the victory SMC won its 5th straight game and are now in 1st place in the the Western State Conference South Division (3-0).  The Corsairs are 15-8 overall. 

The team is currently ranked #13 in Southern California moving up two spots.

SMC has a bye Saturday night, and will return to the court Wednesday February 1 with a 7:00 p.m. home game against L A Pierce College.
