Santa Monica College Women's Basketball continued their outstanding play Wednesday night defeating visiting LA Pierce College 90-33.
The Corsairs led from start to finish, dominating the Brahmas throughout. SMC outscored Pierce 27-3 in the first quarter and never looked back.
Santa Monica was led by Lauren Davis (27 points 13 rebounds), Katya Echavez (24 points, 4 steals) and Jessica Melamed (22 points, 5 steals)
The Corsairs shot 40% from the field, 80% from the freethrow line in addition to recording a season high 30 steals.
With the victory Santa Monica continues to lead the WSC South Division with a 5-0 record. Overall the Corsairs are 16-8 and ranked #13 in Southern California.
SMC returns to action Saturday February 4 at West LA College. Game time is 3 p.m.
