SMC Women's Soccer came back to from a 3-1 deficit to end the match against the Moorpark Raiders in a 3-3 draw.

SMC scored first in the 28th minute from a hard shot into the upper right corner taken by Marisa Moore. Unfortunately SMC could not hold on to their lead as Moorpark was able to score soon in the 29th minute proceeded by two more goals in the 31st and 38th minute ending the first half with a 3-1 score.

The two goal difference set a challenge that the Corsairs were able to step up to. SMC fought back for 22 minutes in the second half to get their second goal scored by Filippa Struxsjo from a ball laid off by Josseline Espinoza. With three minutes left in the game Josseline Espinoza scored the third goal from a ball played into the top of the box by Marisa Moore.

The Corsairs are currently ranked currently ranked 7th in the statewide CCCAA rankings.


SMC will host LA Harbor College at home on Tuesday September 19th at 2pm.
