Women's soccer bounces back with win against Ventura College

The Santa Monica College Corsairs returned to the field to take on the Ventura College Pirates Tuesday, September 26, 2017.   After to Rio Hondo  4-2 against Rio Hondo in their last match,  the Corsairs seemed determined to bounce back and keep their undefeated streak at home.

The Corsairs started off strong with a goal in the 19th minute by Filippa Struxsjo that scored off of a pass given by Chrystal Dorado. SMC's constant pressure helped create their second goal which came from Ventura trying to clear a ball that was crossed into their box and scoring on their own goal.

Unfortunately the Corsairs were not able to keep their shutout, allowing a goal in the 45th minute of the 1st half.

The win brings the Corsairs record to 6-2-2. SMC will return to take on Santa Barbara at home on Tuesday October 3rd at 3pm.
