SMC Women's soccer wins again

The Santa Monica College Corsairs defeated Antelope Valley College 4-3 Friday September 28 at SMC.  The Corsairs trailed early in the match, but answered back with a goal from Antoinette Saldana in the 26th minute. Not long after Saldana buried a free kick to give the Corsairs a 2-1 lead. In the final minute of the first half, AVC fought back and tied the game at 2-2. 

 
The second half proved to be just as competitive as the first as minutes into the half AVC scored on a penalty kick to recapture the lead for the third lead change of the match. 
 
The Corsairs continued to battle back creating two more goals to earn the victory. The final goals were scored by Dayli Ramos and Beverly Bourdet.
 
AVC finished the game with 9 shots to SMC's 6 and each goal keeper had 2 saves in the match. 
 
The Corsairs will host Moorpark College on Tuesday, Oct. 2 at 3pm.
 
SMC remains ranked #16 according to the United Soccer Association Junior College Division III Poll.
