Santa Monica College Women's Soccer Coach Aaron Benditson has announced that Sophomore midfielder Filippa Struxsjo, an international student from Finna Sweden and current SMC women's soccer standout has signed a letter of intent to play at Aquinas College in Grand Rapids, Michigan.
The SMC Athletic Department and specifically the Women's Soccer team would like to congratulate Filippa.
During her two years as a Corsair, Struxsjo made her impact on and off of the field of play. She was named MVP of the Western State Conference this season and was the leading goal scorer for the Corsairs finishing her career with a total of 78 points in two years. She was selected as a Junior College All-American nominee.
Struxsjo is also on the Deans list at Santa Monica College carrying a 3.9 GPA.
Coach Benditson had this to say about Struxjso, "Everyone involved in the program is exceptionally proud of Filippa's accomplishments. She is a model student-athlete who has demonstrated that if you are honest, hard- working and committed to your future great opportunities can arise."
