Santa Monica College Women's Soccer Coach Aaron Benditson has announced that another member of the Western State Championship 2019 team has signed a letter of intent to play Division II soccer at Cal State Dominguez Hills!  Sophomore Defensive standout Renee Escobar from Upland High School will graduate from SMC and join the Toreros.

"We are excited to announce the signing of Renee Escobar to the Cal State University at Dominguez Hills women's soccer team," stated Coach Benditson.  "Renee was co-defensive MVP for our team this past season and helped our program on and off of the field of play. During the 2018 season, she was a Western State Conference 1st team All-League selection and helped to lead our backline a 1.04 goals against average.  To top it off, she helped the team claim back-to-back WSC championships."  Renee will be receiving a scholarship to continue her academic and athletic career at CSUDH and will be missed by all of us at Santa Monica College. We are thankful for her dedication to our program and for leaving her mark for years to come."

The Santa Monica College Women's Soccer team had a very successful season.  The Corsairs posted a 15-3-4 record overall and won the Western State Conference championship with a 7-1 record.  The team also qualified for the Southern California Regional Playoffs.
