Corsairs win on Sophomore day!!

The Santa Monica College Women's Soccer team honored their sophomores with a 1-0 home victory against Bakersfield College. The sophomores who were honored for the Corsairs were Dayli Ramos, Ruth Pelaez, Ceirra Little, Joscelyn Diaz, Giselle Lopez, Cindy Castro, and Kimberly Quevedo
 
In the first half the Corsairs logged 17 shots with 9 of them being on goal, but could not find the back of the net against a strong goal keeper for Bakersfield College. The second half had a similar story line with SMC dominating the run of play and creating several goal scoring opportunities.  In the 76th minute Ramos followed up a shot from Narumi Kamiya to put the Corsairs on the board. 
 
In the game the Corsairs had a total of 28 shots with 15 of them being on goal to Bakersfield's 1 shot on goal. Santa Monica College standout goalkeeper Taylor Brown recorded her 11th shut out of the season. With this win SMC moves to 13-4-3 on the season and 10-2-1 in Western State Conference play. 
 
The Corsairs will host their final Western State Conference match of the season against LA Valley at 3pm.
