Santa Monica College Women's Soccer coach Aaron Benditson announced that former Santa Monica College Women's soccer standout Kenia Mejia-Godoy has signed a National Letter of Intent to attend Antelope Valley University, in Southern California. Mejia-Godoy was a sophomore at SMC in 2016 and was a first team all Western State Conference Selection anchoring the team's backline helping to earn the Lady Corsairs 9 shutouts on the season.   She herself tallied a total of 8 career points (2 goals, 4 assists) as a defender.

"Kenia was a tremendously hard worker and model student athlete both on and off the field." stated Coach Benditson. "She always did all the little details right and was such a good person to everyone around her. I am so glad we stayed connected throughout this process and we could aid in her movement to the next level. She will truly excel and blossom as a student-athlete at AVU.  We are all so proud of her achievements and can't wait to see the next chapter."
