Tomorrow, Sunday April 26, 2015, 11:00am at Libbey Park in Ojai, Mayra Jovic will play in the Final championship round for the CCCAA State Singles title against Shasta College's Chieko Yamada.
Jovic (18-0 in singles) and Yamada are both undefeated in singles for the year. SMC's Jovic is the #1 ranked player in Southern California and Shasta College's Yamada is the #1 ranked player in Northern California.
But before Jovic plays for the the State Championship final round in singles, she will play a doubles semi-final with partner Izabel Nazdracheva at 8:00am on Sunday, April 26 at the Libbey Park (Lower) tennis courts in Ojai. If Jovic and Nazdracheva win the semi-final they will advance to the final round of the doubles championships to be held at Libbey Park (Upper) at 2:00pm.
If Jovic can win both the singles and doubles titles tomorrow, she will be the first women's tennis player in SMC school history to win both events.
