Ventura Invitational Recap

After a year off because of a voracious forest fire, the Ventura Invitational returned with its normal, hilly course.  Twelve women's teams lined up for the challenge, though only four schools had scoring teams.  The Santa Monica College Women's Cross Country team had only three runners participate in the season opener, but they represented well.  Cynthia Tuxpan opened her collegiate cross country career in fine fashion by leading the Lady Corsairs.  On her heels the whole race, Maria Martinez should look to push ahead in future races.  Hillary Monterrosas survived the tough course, but with more conditioning, she will run more competitively.
