Al Green With 22 Points in City's Win Over No. 12 Santa Monica
San Diego City is off to a 2-0 start after getting a 72-65 road win at No. 12 Santa Monica with Al Green scoring a game-high 22 points and KJay Bradley adding 18 points, four assists, and four rebounds.

The No. 4-ranked Knights shot 48.4% in the first half while holding Santa Monica to 40.6% shooting as San Diego City went ahead by as many as 12 points late in the half. Keavie Love scored 10 of his 12 bench points in the first period to help City take that double-digit lead, but Santa Monica got within six by halftime.
The Corsairs then started the second half with a 14-6 run in the first seven minutes to grab a 45-43 lead. With Santa Monica ahead 53-50, City's Green knocked down three of his five 3-pointers in a 4-minute stretch to help the Knights regain a 62-56 lead with 4:31 left in the game.
Santa Monica got back within two, but a Dillon Cubit jumper and a Bradley three pushed City's lead back up to 67-60. The Corsairs closed the gap once again to 67-65 with 24 seconds remaining, but Green, Bradley, and Love combined to hit six consecutive free throws down the stretch to hold off Santa Monica.
The No. 4 Knights will play their home opener on Thursday, Nov. 9 at 3 p.m. against No. 9 Chabot as part of the 2-day Knights Invitational, which will also feature two other top-9 teams in the state, including No. 1 Fullerton and No. 3 West Valley. All four games of the invitational will be live-streamed on the Knights' YouTube channel.
