Griffith Makes History as Warriors Sweep at Santa Monica Mini Tournament

Nate Griffith made history in the pool as El Camino College extended its winning streak to five games after scoring a pair of victories Friday at the Santa Monica Mini Tournament hosted by Santa Monica College.

EL CAMINO COLLEGE 12, SANTA MONICA 9

The Warriors got four goals apiece from Cole Allyn and Nate Griffith in the opening match of the day as ECC opened up a 7-1 lead and never looked back. The Warriors led by as many as eight goals in the third period as Brandon Guerrero, Adian Morvice, Joseph Banda and Seth Ulrich all added goals in the win.

Brandon Soto made eight saves in three quarters of action.

EL CAMINO COLLEGE 20, SAN DIEGO MIRAMAR 13

History was made in the final game of the day as Griffith dished out nine assists for the Warriors, a new single game record in ECC history. Ulrich, Guerrero and Morvice each led the team with three goals while Banda and Steven Olsen added two apiece. Griffith also scored twice while Soto made seven saves in the first half with Ali Ahmad adding two saves in the second.

The Warriors will return home for their last home match of the season on Wednesday against Rio Hondo.
