Owls Cruise Past Corsairs

No. 5-ranked Citrus College steamrolled to a 106-79 victory over Santa Monica College Saturday evening, grabbing its 11th-straight win.

The Owls improved to 14-2 overall and remain unbeaten in Western State Conference-South action at 2-0. The Corsairs drop to 5-11 on the year and 1-1 in conference.

Five Owls finished the game in double figures, with another just on the cusp. Aibigho Ujadughele led the Owls with 15 points and was one board shy of a double-double with nine rebounds. Chris Chiles followed with 14 points and dished out five assists, while Uriah Foster posted 13 points. Jayden Johnston chipped in 12 points and Jamal Briscoe rounded out the double-digit scorers with 11 points (5-for-9). Dylon Davis was just on the brink of double figures with nine points.

Citrus led wire-to-wire and held Santa Monica to 9.5-percent shooting from the perimeter – while knocking down 10-of-26 treys itself.

The Owls look to carry momentum as they hit the road for their first away WSC contest, taking on the No. 27-ranked College of the Canyons on Wednesday at 7:00 p.m.
