WOMEN'S TENNIS: The Pirates' women's tennis team lost their final Western State Conference match of the season to front-running Santa Monica College Thursday, 5-4. VC started off with two points by default in no. 6 singles and No. 3 doubles, but managed just two more points in the match. Yannick Garcia won in No. 1 singles 7-5, 6-2 and Georgia Farrar triumphed in No. 5 singles 7-6, 6-2. VC (6-6, 4-4) will finish in third place in the WSC race with an official conference record of 6-4 due to two forfeit wins over Bakersfield, who cancelled their team earlier in the season.
The Pirates will travel to Riverside for their final dual match of the year on Wednesday Apr. 2. They will begin play as individuals in the WSC singles and doubles tournament at the VC Tennis Center on April 4-5.
