The VC women's tennis team dropped a 6-3 decision at Santa Monica Tuesday to split the season series with the Corsairs. Lola Tennison continued her strong season with a win in No. 2 singles while Chandra Padua and Dulce Contreras also produced points in singles play.
Unfortunately for the Pirates, they got off to a slow start dropping all three doubles matches.
Padua claimed VC's first point with a 6-4, 6-2 win on Court 4 and Contreras won in No. 5 singles, 6-0, 6-4. Tennison extended her solid season with a come-from-behind 4-6, 6-3, 6-0 victory in No. 2 singles.
Ventura (8-7, 7-5) will next host Canyons on Thursday Mar. 27 in a make-up contest at the VC Tennis Center.
