The Santa Monica College Men's Volleyball team defeated LA Pierce College in an exciting match in the first round of the California Community College Volleyball playoffs Friday at the SMC Pavillion.

"This was a hard fought match," stated SMC Head Coach Jackson Metichecchia. "This was not the cleanest volleyball match as Pierce put forth a great defensive effort.  Both teams showed streaks of really good volleyball but thankfully in the end we were on the right side of the scoreboard."

Adam Dalmada led the way for the Corsairs with 17 kills, hitting .344 and added four blocks.

The Corsairs will play Orange Coast College Thursday April 27 at LA Pierce College. This is the fourth straight year the Corsairs have earned a trip to the State Final Four.
