Chrystal Dorado earns a scholarship

Santa Monica Head Women's Soccer Coach Aaron Benditson announced that team captain Chrystal Dorado has signed an athletic scholarship to attend Cal State University Dominguez Hills.  CSUDH is an NCAA Division II program that competes in the California Collegiate Athletic Association. Dorado, who was a two year starter at Santa Monica College will join the Toros as they are looking to rebuild their program after hiring a new coaching staff for 2018.  During Dorado's two years at SMC the team compiled a 25-11-6 record and finished the 2017 season nationally ranked for the NJCAA Division 3 polls at #18.  
 
Dorado was also a scholar athlete at SMC carrying over a 3.0 GPA.  After her signing Dorado had these words to say about her experience at Santa Monica College: "I absolutely loved SMC, they had the best professors and the soccer program was amazing. I really consider the program my family! Many of my teammates they were like my sisters."
