Santa Monica Women's Soccer announced another scholarship signing as sophomore Jacky Montepeque committed to attend Kansas Wesleyan University.   Montepeque a two time First Team All Western State selection and a Birmingham High product has been a solid contributor on the SMC Women's Soccer team.    

In her two years at SMC, she was a key member of the back-to-back WSC championship teams and was named team Co-Defensive Most Valuable Player this past season. 

"Jacky led our defensive back line helping our team maintain a 1.04 goals against average for the 2018 season," stated Head Coach Aaron Benditson."  "Since Jacky's arrival two years ago she has been a source of inspiration and constant development. She has shown how going beyond your comfort zone and demanding more from yourself can help you achieve great things.   This is obviously a tremendous opportunity for her attending Kansas Wesleyan University next season. The athletic department, women's soccer staff and her teammates here at Santa Monica College are all excited for this well earned honor and opportunity.  We will of course miss having Jacky as a Corsair, but are excited for her future as a KWU Coyote."
