On Friday September 6, 2019 the Santa Monica College Corsairs traveled to MiraCosta College for their first away match of the season. The Corsairs got off to a slow start in the first half, but came out with a clean sheet keeping the first half 0-0 even though MiraCosta put together a strong side, they couldn't break through the Corsair's backline.
The second half had a different feel as the Corsairs started to settle into the game and created more chances, but couldn't find the back of the net. SMC finished the game with 11 shots and 4 of them on goal while MiraCosta only had 4 shots with zero on goal.
SMC Goalkeeper Taylor Brown recorded her second shut out of the season as the Corsairs moved to 1-0-1 on the season.
SMC will return to action on Friday September 13, 2019 at Chaffey College at 2pm.
