Santa Monica, Calif. – Santa Monica College Men's Basketball 6-9 Redshirt Sophomore Center Quinn Collins signed a letter of intent to continue his academic and athletic career at McPherson College, a NAIA athletic participant. Collins, who hails from Redondo Beach, CA, is excited to play under Head Coach TJ Eskildsen in McPherson, Kansas.

"I want to thank all my family members, all the coaches that coached me past and present, and all my friends. I chose McPherson College because it was the best fit for me and the best place to continue my basketball career where I can play on the court and enjoy life off the court," said Collins.

In the 2022-2023 season, Collins averaged 14.4 points, 7.3 rebounds, 1.4 assists, and 1.1 blocks per game with Santa Monica College. In the 2021-2022 season at SMC, Collins averaged 8.9 points, 7.9 rebounds, 1.1 assists, and 1.6 blocks per game.

"I plan to play hard every game and make winning plays and make every notice that," said Collins.

During his time playing for the Corsairs, Collins registered career-highs of 25 points, 17 rebounds, six assists, seven blocks, and three steals (twice).

"I am very happy for Quinn. Quinn has worked very hard on the court and in the classroom. I am extremely proud of him. Quinn has a fluid and versatile basketball game that really complements anyone on the court and is adaptable to many differing playing styles," explained Head Coach Joshua Thomas. "He has supportive parents that instilled him with the tools to be successful in life. He has been a joy to coach, and I am grateful for our time together at SMC. I know he will be great at McPherson College on the court and in the classroom."

"My time at SMC was great. It was a long journey filled with ups and downs. It's not whether you get knocked down – it's whether you get back up! I met a lot of new people, made new friends, and elevated myself as a person and as a player," explained Collins.
