Santa Monica College Men's Basketball 6-9 Sophomore PF Daniel Akitoby is continuing his academic and athletic career at Morgan State University, a NCAA Division I participant in the Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference. Akitoby, who hails from Fairfax, VA, played two seasons with the Corsairs and graduated with his AA degree in the Spring of 2023. Akitoby is the second consecutive Corsair to commit to Morgan State University in back-to-back years.

In the 2022-2023 season, Akitoby averaged 12.2 points, 7.0 rebounds, 0.3 assists, 0.83 steals per game, and 0.5 blocks per game with Santa Monica College, and he shot 95% from the free throw line. During his freshman year in 2021-2022, he averaged 8.0 points, 5.4 rebounds, 0.2 assists, 1.43 blocks, and 0.56 steals per game on 52.5% field goal shooting.

Akitoby registered career-highs of 21 points (twice), 12 rebounds (twice), one assists (five times), two steals (three times), and five blocks.
