In a great match last night, the men's volleyball team secured a hard-fought 3-2 victory over Moorpark in their conference opener on the road. Going into the game, SMC held the 7th rank, while Moorpark was 4th. With the win, SMC improved its record from 3-4 to 4-4, while Moorpark's record dipped from 4-2 to 4-3.

Moorpark set the tone early, claiming the first set of the match. However, SMC fought back seizing the lead at 2-1 after the third set. The fourth set witnessed intense back-and-forth action, with Moorpark managing to edge out SMC for the win, forcing a decisive fifth set.

The fifth set was a true test of nerves, with both teams trading points in a tightly contested battle. However, the Corsairs ultimately won, clinching the final set with a narrow margin of 15-13. Despite battling illness, Jason Walmer displayed exceptional setting game to his team's success. Bryce Bowsher and Nathan Kramer showcased their prowess on the pins, while Alen Petraev anchored the team's middle.
