The Santa Monica College Men's Basketball team was well represented in the Western State South All-Conference voting.  Freshman Elias King and Sophomores Isaiah Simpson and Daisone Hughes were selected to the Western State-South Conference First Team. Sophomores LeAndrew Knight and Mekhi Kimble were Honorable Mention selections. t

King led the Corsairs in scoring  (14.9 points per game) and grabbed 6.3 rebounds per game. Simpson scored 13.1 points per game and led the Corsairs with 8.1 rebounds per game and 1.1 blocks per game. Hughes was third on the team in scoring with 12.4 points per game, grabbed five rebounds per game, and connected on 37% of his three-point attempts.

"Elias and Isaiah were the best bigs in our conference, and quite honestly, formed one of the top front-courts in the state. Both Elias and Isaiah are 6-9 and they both can score in the paint, shoot the mid-range, and shoot three-pointers, and that presented many match-up problems against most teams we faced," Head Coach Joshua Thomas explained. "Daisone was really consistent for us all year long. He was very efficient and opened-up conference play averaging 20.5 points while shooting 70% FG and 58.3% 3FG."

Knight, named to Honorable Mention for the second year in a row, scored 10.7 points per game, grabbed 5.9 rebounds per game, dished out 2.5 assists per game, and shot 38.8% from three-point range. Kimble scored 10.3 points per game, grabbed 3.1 rebounds, shot 38.2% from three-point range, and led the team with 55 total three-pointers made.

"LeAndrew made a sacrifice this season by coming off the bench and serving as our sixth man for most of the season. He accepted his role and excelled in it. He is a true winner and is willing to do whatever it takes to win," Thomas said. "Mekhi lit it up from three-point range all year. He shot 46.3% from three-point range in conference play and he really spaced out the floor for everyone on the team."
