Santa Monica, Calif. – Santa Monica College Men's Basketball 6-6 Sophomore Forward Maxwell Moses signed a letter of intent to continue his academic and athletic career at Warner Pacific University, a NAIA athletic participant. Moses, a transfer from Ottawa University in Arizona, hails from Los Angeles, CA and he is excited to be headed Portland, Oregon to play under Head Coach Jamayne Potts.

"I want to thank my Mom, Dad, and sister for always supporting me. Also, I want to thank all of my friends. I chose Warner Pacific because they not only have a very impressive basketball program, but the academics are really good and there are a lot of classes that fit my major," said Moses.

In the 2019-2020 season, Moses averaged 4.5 points, 3.5 rebounds, and 1.1 assists per game at Ottawa University. During the 2020-2021 season, Moses averaged 2.4 points, 1.9 rebounds, and 0.9 assists per game at Ottawa University.

"I expect to bring lots of competitiveness to Warner Pacific, and I will do whatever it takes to win games," explained Moses. "I can create shots off the dribble and provide scoring to the team. I am also improving defensively every day."

Moses had a productive 2021-2022 season for Santa Monica College. He averaged 8.5 points, 6.5 rebounds, and 2.0 assists while shooting 45.2% from the field and 34.4% from three-point range.

"I am very happy for Max. I know he will be a great addition to Coach Potts' program. Max is a team-first player and an exceptional person. It was a pleasure coaching Max this season. He has known Coach Potts for years and that familiarity is going to bode well for Max while he is in Portland. I cannot wait to follow his career as a Knight. I am happy for Max and the entire Moses family," said Head Coach Joshua Thomas.

"We are very excited to have Max join our program! He definitely will bring a lot to the table for us on both sides of the ball. His height at 6'6" and length will be huge for us on the defensive end from rebounding to creating deflections," said Warner Pacific Head Coach Potts. "On the offensive end, Max has the ability to stretch the floor from three, is one of the most consistent midrange knockdown shooters I have seen in a while, and is a good passer. We can't wait to get Max here and get going!"
