The SCM Corsairs men's volleyball team defeated Los Angeles Pierce College in four sets Wednesday night (25-21, 18-25, 25-20, 25-23) bringing their overall record on the season to 4-7. Outside Hitter Cameron Taylor led the team in attacking as he hit 0.307 for the match. "This week [Taylor] had a great couple of practices, seeing the block well and adjusting his swing based on his vision" said Head Coach Chris Chown, following the match.
"It was a good team win, a lot of players stepping up in different ways." said Chown. "I loved how DK [Dakayo Clark] came in and served a great game. Alen [Petraev] also had a great serving game."
The Corsairs featured a balanced offense led by setter and Player of the Game Ethan Lo. Lo finished the contest with 37 assists, multiple blocks and a few digs to help steady the Corsairs. "Just distributing the ball and giving my hitters hittable sets...that's my job" said Lo, following the win. "We need to go into the next game with the same mindset."
The Corsairs look to continue the positive momentum on Friday night at home at 6pm against Antelope Valley. Friday night's home contest is "Pirate Night", so come out to support your Corsairs and wear your best pirate gear!
