The Santa Monica College Women's Basketball team kicked off its 2024-2025 season with a resounding victory over visiting LA Harbor College.

The Corsairs led from start to finish defeating Harbor 116-23.   

SMC was led by  Heidi Luna (St. Mary's Academy High Freshman) who had 28 points and 10 steals, returning sophomore Maya Stokes (Windward High) who had 20 points, 6 assists and 9 steals, Mandy Kohanim (Beverly Hills High) who had 18 points and 9 rebounds, Freshman Tilde Maansson who scored 18 points and grabbed 9 rebounds while Nicole Mansouri (Palisades High) who had 13 points, 6 rebounds and 3 steals.

"It was great to see the team open the season this way.  The girls all played hard, shared the ball and forced quite a few turnovers as well.    We look forward to all of our games this season of course but we are off to a great start. I can't wait to see how we perform in our next games!"

The Corsairs travel to San Diego Mesa College for a Thursday November 7 5:00 p.m. game.
