TORRANCE, Calif. – The Santa Monica College Corsairs won their second match in a row defeating El Camino College in their home opener 6-1. El Camino College (0-1) was outmatched by Santa Monica (2-0) as the Corsairs jumped to an early 4-0 lead within the first thirty minutes of the match.
SMC was led by a number of players who played well starting with Antoinette Saldana who scored 2 goals in the match. Ana Gutierrez, Ceirra Little, Filippa Struxsjo, and Beverly Bourdet all scored for the Corsairs
SMC Goalkeeper Yosemite Cruz played 80 minutes allowing 1 goal off of a penalty kick. SMC back up goalie Evelyn Jimenez held El Camino scoreless for the final minutes of the game.
Corsairs will travel to Long Beach College (1-2) to take on Vikings Tuesday at 2pm.
