The Santa Monica Corsairs won the Western State Conference Championship with a 6-1 victory over Glendale College Tuesday November 6, 2018!  The Corsairs traveled to Glendale  intent to prove they deserved the top spot in the conference.  SMC jumped out to an early lead two minutes into the match as Ceirra Little finished a ball played in by Antoinette Saldana. Minutes later, Saldana drove home a shot of her own to give SMC a 2-0 lead.

In the 11th minute, Glendale finished a penalty kick to bring the score to 2-1. The Corsairs weren't going to allow the score line to stay that way until half, and with just 10 minutes left, Saldana scored her second goal of the match giving the Corsairs a 3-1 lead at half time.

The story line continued for the second half as the Corsairs scored three additional goals (two by Filippa Struxsjo and one by Little) to bring the final score for the match to 6-1.

With the win, the Corsairs sealed their spot as Conference Champions with a record of 6-1 before their final match up in regular season play against West LA College on Friday. During the match, Santa Monica tallied 17 shots with 11 being on frame to Glendale's 5 shots and 3 on frame. Yosemite Cruz earned the win in goal for the Corsairs.
