SMC Women's Soccer falls to SBCC

The Santa Monica College Corsairs Women's Soccer team played a home match Tuesday September 24 against Santa Barbara City College and suffered their first defeat of the season.

The Vaqueros started off strong scoring their first goal of the match 2 minutes into the game.  Santa Barbara added a second goal 5 minutes later off of a set piece. 

Santa Monica ended the first half down 2-0 with only one shot on goal recorded for the half.  The Corsairs came out in the second half with more intensity.  SMC had the majority of the possessions in the half.   In the 60th minute,  the Corsairs got on the scoreboard off of an unassisted goal from Dayli Ramos.   In the remainder of the half, SMC added an additional 5 shots, but could not find the back of the net. 

After the 2-1 defeat the Corsairs move to 3-1-2 on the season and will travel to take on Fullerton College on Friday with a 3pm kick-off.
