Women's soccer defeats Glendale

In their second Western State Conference match-up,  the Santa Monica College Women's Soccer team traveled Glendale Community College to take on the Vaqueros. The Corsairs got off to a slow start in the match, but broke through in the 23rd minute when Ashley Heravi scored her second goal of the season off of a set piece from Anika Williams.  Before halftime, Kayla Makkar added two more goals to the scoreline with assists from Ceirra Little and Meredith Gomez allowing the Corsairs to go into halftime with a 3-0 lead. 

In the second half of the match Little added her fourth goal of the season to finish off the Corsairs scoring leading to the 4-0 win over the Vaqueros. 

SMC logged 19 shots in the game with 9 of them being on goal. SMC's goal keeper, Taylor Brown logged 3 saves to record her sixth shut out for the season. 

With the win the Corsairs improve their record to 5-2-2 on the season and 2-0 in Western State Conference play.   SMC returns to action Tuesday, October 8th at home with 3:00 p.m match against College of the Canyons.
