SMC defeats LA Valley in season finale

The Santa Monica College Corsairs hosted their final Western State Conference game against LA Valley College and defeated the Monarchs 2-0.  The Corsairs attempted nine shots on goal in the first half and in the final minute of play Ceirra Little finished off a pass from Dayli Ramos to give SMC a 1-0 lead. 

In the second half of play the Corsairs attemped an additional 6 shots including a goal from Ramos in 81st minute of play. This closed out the SMC conference play with a 2-0 win. 

In the match, the Corsairs out shot LA Valley 15 to 5 and dominated the possessions. The Corsairs ended regular season play with a 11-2-1 record and a second place finish in Western State Conference play.  The Corsairs overall record is 14-4-3 and we be a guaranteed spot in the playoffs.   The Corsairs will find out their playoff opponent after the playoff seeding meeting.   Playoffs will begin this week.
