Women Soccer Back In Playoffs

The women's soccer team is continuing their fantastic season, and a few tough games during November were dealt with 2 wins, an excellent tie, and an end-of-season loss.

On November 1st, the women played LA Valley College at home and won 2-1. On Friday, November 4th the Corsairs traveled to a challenging away game at Antelope Valley College and came back with a 0-0 draw. The same team beat SMC 6-0 less than a month prior. Continuing the momentum, the Corsairs beat Citrus College at home 3-1, when a massive rain washed the field.

The Corsairs hoped to finish the regular season strong against College of the Canyons but conceived 3 goals to nothing. Coach Aaron Benditson said: "I'm disappointed with the score of the last match, but we look forward to playoffs and believe we can make it one step at a time".

The Corsairs finished the regular season with a 12-6-3 record. Their biggest win was 11-0 against Glendale College. The harshest defeat was 6-0 against Antelope Valley. The top scorer of the regular season is Ali Alban with 12 goals.

The Corsairs will know shortly who will they meet in the first playoff round, more details to come.
