Larry Silva is a Long Beach State graduate.  He has been Santa Monica College’s head coach of Men’s Track & Field since 2005 and Head Men’s Cross Country Coach from 2005 to 2009.  In addition, he was assistant coach/consultant  to Tommy Smith in the hurdles and sprint from 2003-05.  From 2009 to the present, he has served at Santa Monica College as the Men’s and Women’s Head Track & Field Coach.  Larry has been a coach for the world renown  Santa Monica Track Club since 2000, where he has supervised the development of National Finalist Sharman Armstrong (400IH), Kyle Ericson (400IH), Ferdana Thompson (400IH), Alicia Warlick (PV, 2000 Trials) and Olympians Bayano Kamani (400IH, ’04,’08) Floyd Herd (200m, 2000 Trials) and Mike Aguilar (400IH, 2004).  He is the proud father of Nicholas and Emily Silva.
